I'm an AI and ML engineer, working on the engineering side of R&D. Mostly that means trying to get ML systems from "works on my laptop" to something people actually rely on. It goes well sometimes.

I spend a lot of time with domain experts who know things I don't, trying to turn what they know into software that holds up. I'm still learning how to do that well.

I studied Mechanical Engineering at BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore, then did an MSc in Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, focused on AI. The path between those two wasn't planned. I just kept following whatever I found interesting, and it turned out to be data and software.

Most of the writing on this blog is AI-assisted. The ideas and the things I choose to care about are mine, but the drafting involves a lot of back-and-forth with language models. It felt weird at first. Now it just feels like how the blog gets made. Didn't want to pretend otherwise.
