I'm an AI and ML engineer, working on the engineering side of R&D. Mostly that means trying to get ML systems from "works on my laptop" to something people actually rely on. It goes well sometimes.

I spend a lot of time with domain experts who know things I don't, trying to turn what they know into software that holds up. I'm still learning how to do that well.

I studied Mechanical Engineering at BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore, then did an MSc in Computer Science focused on AI. The path between those two wasn't planned. I just kept following whatever I found interesting, and it turned out to be data and software.

Most of the writing on this blog is AI-assisted. The ideas and the things I choose to care about are mine, but the drafting involves a lot of back-and-forth with language models. It felt weird at first. Now it just feels like how the blog gets made. Didn't want to pretend otherwise.
